Pondering
So here is my question-
If it is above average temps right now, what will this mean for July? 114 degrees? Whoa Nelly, I hope not!
But, I guess for now, I'll just take each day as it comes and enjoy it for what it is!

Out Of The Blue
You know the days-the ones you just don't see happening. Yesterday was "one of those days" for our family. One of our children received a diagnosis that hit us out of the blue. We are just at the beginning stages of learning about the disease and what it all means, if she has something even more serious, if she will have this for life, or if she will just resolve it with time.
A verse that my heart and mind ran to was this:
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
This portion of scripture is found in Philippians, 4th Chapter, verses 4-7.
How good our the promises of God...that is a rhetorical question...they are indeed good and it is on His promises that we are standing, kneeling and crying out. We have no doubt that God hears us, His children, and that no matter our circumstance, He is still God!
It really is a privilege to carry our requests to the heart of God for He hears us and He sees us and He knows us.

The "Pit"
JESUS CALLING--FEBRUARY 23
BE ON GUARD against the pit of self pity.
When you are weary or unwell, this demonic trap is the greatest danger you face. Don't even go near the edge of the pit. Its edges crumble easily, and before you know it, you are on the way down. It is ever so much harder to get out of the pit than to keep a safe distance from it.
There are several ways to protect yourself from self-pity. When you are occupied with praising and thanking Me, it is impossible to feel sorry for yourself. Also, the closer you live to Me, the more distance there is between you and the pit. Live in the Light of My Presence by fixing your eyes on Me. Then you will be able to run with endurance the race that is set before you without stumbling or falling.
PSALM 89: 15-16; HEBREWS 12:1-2 (NASB)

CAN NOT
I'd like to pass on a statement I heard on the radio the other day~
"We CAN NOT condone what Christ has already condemned."
Wow-left me a bit speechless and in the center of Truth.

RAW
So today I came back to work after a really great family vacation. I am going to pretty honest and say that I stumble when it comes to comparing gifts. It is wrong and it is not how God intended us to be-but I fail often.
This morning I was back in the Church I love, worshiping with the body of Christ and then I let the thorn of "not good enough" rise up and prick my skin. Forgetting that worship is not about me...it is about the One who made me-the One to whom all praise is due.
God is so good and His grace is powerful and constant-THIS is what I need to remember! THIS is the Truth that propels us forward.
